General

Confidentiality

As we work through the counselling process towards your desired goals, you need to be able to participate freely and with confidence. As an accredited member of the BACP I take being trustworthy as a serious ethical commitment.

The BACP ethical framework guidelines that I follow can be found here: BACP Ethical Framework

Cancellations

I invite clients to share difficult feelings about attending appointments. Once in therapy, a flow of meetings is encouraged.

However, if you need to cancel an appointment then ideally, I need a week’s notice. Where I can offer an alternative timed session, I will.  this is often not possible at short notice, so cancellations of less than 48 hours would then need to be charged for.

I request clients contact me via email or phone as SMS messages can be unreliable.

Ending counselling sessions

The ending of therapy is an important aspect of the work. I would therefore encourage you to share any thoughts or feelings around this so that we can explore and make sense of them together.
